Classes run as small group express.
Skippers 1-3 and Levels 1-3: 3 kids per instructor.
Levels 4-6: 4 kids per instructor.

Important Information
Group Lessons
We use the American Red Cross Learn to Swim Program. Classes are typically held one night a week for seven to nine weeks. Click the "REGISTER NOW" button at the top of the page to register for classes.
Things To Know
- Registration for the upcoming session starts during week 5 or 7 of current classes. Progress Reports are handed out. Please register your child for the level given to them on the progress report.
- If you do not know what level your child should be in, please contact the Aquatics Supervisor to schedule a time for an evaluation.
- During the first week of lessons your child will be shown where to wait for swim lessons. In the following weeks please take your child to their spot a few minutes before lessons start.
- During lessons we ask that parents sit on the bleachers or outside, not at the wall or sitting on the floor near class.
- Classes will be combined if needed so all classes run.
Missed Lessons
We will do our best to find a make-up day/time for your child in classes that are not full for the following reasons.
- If your child is sick AND a doctor's note is provided.*
- If your child missed due to a school event (concert, science fair, etc.) and you have the program from that night.*
- If there is a family emergency please contact the Aquatics Supervisor.*
*If we find this is becoming an issue and happening too many times during the session we will re-evaluate.
Private & Semi-Private Swim Lessons
We offer private/semi-private/small group lessons for adults and children. Private lessons can be scheduled with one of our instructors by contacting the pool directly. We do have a long waitlist for these lessons so it's a good idea to get you name on the list early. Registration is open at the pool, not online!
Currently we have 15 families on our Wait List.
Cost of 6, 30-minute lessons
Private: R $95/NR $115
*Semi-Private: (Group of 2) R $144/NR $180 (total for both participants)
*Small Group of 3: R $210/NR $265 (total for participants)
*Small Group of 4: R 288/NR $350 (total for participants)
*We do not make matches for semi private and small group lessons

Adult Programs
Masters Swimming
Masters Swimming is a fun and challenging workout that helps improve stroke technique while building endurance. Coach Jerry and Coach Carl have years of experience working with all swimming abilities from seasoned athletes to beginning lap swimmers. Coaches Jerry and Carl are able to help you with whatever your fitness goals might be in the morning practice.

Private/Semi-Private Lessons:
Swim faster private lessons
Individualized Attention that includes an evaluation of your current technique and recommendations for improvement.
Your instructor will zero in on one or two keys areas each lesson and then teach drills and exercises for improvement routines. This class is open to beginning lap swimmers through competitive Masters. Specializing in optimal distance and open water swimming. These lessons will focus mainly on freestyle, open water techniques, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, and flip turns. Lessons are 45 minutes in length.

*Max of 4 swimmers. All participants must be of similar ability.
Swim Faster lesson cancellations will be accepted up to 24 hours prior to a lesson. Please contact your instructor via phone or email. If you fail to show up for your lesson and do not call or email, you will be charged for the lesson.
Swim Faster Refresher
One-hour session to review your current technique with stroke improvement in mind. Includes critique and a set of drills to use in future swim workouts. Ideally for those who have already done the 6-pack or 8-pack Swim Faster program, although anyone looking for improvement is welcome. Designed for intermediate to expert swimmers. Beginners should sign up for a 6- or 8-pack of lessons.
Price: Res $55 per hour/NR $65 per hour

Open Water Training
Open Water Training is designed for triathletes looking for a place to practice their open water skills, technique and endurance while the lakes are too cold. Both seasoned triathletes and beginners alike are welcome. OWT will give you the opportunity to learn, practice and improve important open water swimming skills with someone who has years of experience. Coach Zeus from E3 Coaching has years of hands on experience including training and competing in a full Ironman himself. Throughout the session Coach Z will be able to give you pointers on your stroke technique in addition to continued feedback/practice on skills such as: sighting, pack swimming and turning.

Pool Rentals
Rent the MG Pool for any occasion! Your friends and family will never forget when you had the pool all to yourselves.
Available Saturday afternoons for parties, consider the MG pool for birthday parties, school /scout events, reunions...and more!
- Private rentals include a minimum of two lifeguards, pool equipment, and all pool facilities (locker rooms, deck, etc).
- Rentals also available for team practices. Please call/e-mail for available dates/times.
Team rentals need to become a facility requester through the MGSD facility rental system. Once you become a requester, you can input the dates/times you'd like the facility. Once approved, you will receive an email notification and a final invoice after the event. Prior to this, please contact Heidi Stroess to see if dates/times are available.
All party renters are required to sign and forward our MGHS Pool Deep Water Swim Test and pool rules and policies to parents/guardians at the rental. See the section below on documents and forms.
