Attendance
Consistent school attendance is one of the building blocks for student success. Good attendance contributes to students doing well in school and eventually in the workplace. Attending school regularly helps children feel better about school—and themselves. Start building this habit early so they learn right away that going to school on time, every day is important. Good attendance will help children do well in high school, college, and at work.
If a student will be absent from school:
Caregivers must call or email the school as soon as possible if their child will not be attending school or will be late that day. Families may report an absence in advance 24 hours a day. If you have students at multiple schools who will be absent, please contact each of your students’ schools.

Caregivers can also request absences through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal (see information below.)
Under Wisconsin Statute 118.15(3)(c), families may excuse their child from school for up to 10 days per school year for personal reasons, including illness, without requiring medical or other official documentation. These absences must be submitted in writing before the absence whenever possible. We also encourage students to stay on top of any missed classwork. For medical appointments, please provide documentation such as a doctor’s note, appointment confirmation, or MyChart message. These can be sent to the school’s attendance email or shared with the health office. Medically documented absences do not count toward the 10-day limit.
