Welcome from the Office of the Superintendent

On behalf of the Board of Education, faculty and staff, I take great pleasure in welcoming you to the Monona Grove School District.

Our staff has a strong commitment to student achievement and excellence in academics and by providing culturally responsive teaching to our diverse learners. Our community is committed to providing the best resources available to prepare our students for their future.

I am honored to have been selected to lead this district and to fulfill its mission to be a safe, equitable, and inclusive learning community for everyone. Whether it’s a higher level of challenge or extra support, each student gets what is needed, in the classroom with their peers. This work is embedded throughout the district, in every department, every school, every employee group. Our accomplishments are not possible without curious students, engaged parents, committed staff and a supportive community. On behalf of everyone at Monona Grove School District, thank you!

Superintendent Entry Plan - 100 Day Plan

On July 1, I officially began my journey as the new Superintendent of Monona Grove. As I step into this role, I am eager to engage with you–our dedicated staff, enthusiastic students, and supportive families. The first 100 days are crucial for setting the tone and direction of our collaborative efforts. To kick off this period, I am thrilled to share with you a video and a written document outlining my plan to connect with our community, listen to your ideas and concerns, and work together towards our shared goals.

First 30 Days

It’s been an incredibly busy and productive first 30 days, and I’m excited to share some of the progress we’ve made together on the 100-day plan I released in July. As I shared with you last month, my goals for these first 100 days are centered around listening, building trust, and developing relationships in order to learn and plan.

During this first month, I’ve held nearly 60 meetings with key stakeholders—including families, teachers, administrators, and community leaders. These conversations have been essential in fostering and strengthening relationships, and I’m grateful for the warm welcome and honest feedback from everyone involved. With August just beginning, I have another 60+ stakeholder meetings coming up in the next 30 days. As August progresses, I look forward to having more opportunities to see and engage with our students, and I can’t wait to hear more about what they think as well as how they think about issues important to them.

First 60 Days

Over the last 30 days I’ve held nearly 130 meetings with staff, families, administrators, community leaders, and I’ve also had the opportunity to connect with more students through back-to-school events and of course the first few days of school. This time is vital to uphold my entry plan goal: to listen, build trust, and to develop relationships in order to learn and plan.

On September 16th and September 19, we’ll be holding Superintendent Roundtables in Monona and Cottage Grove. These conversations will put the MG student experience at the center as we dig in on what our community values and aspirations are for the kids in our schools.

Over the last 30 days I’ve been able to connect with more than 250 staff, families, administrators, community leaders, and students. It's been amazing to see our students and staff in action at school! This time is vital to uphold my entry plan goal: to listen, build trust, and to develop relationships in order to learn and plan.
