Facilities & Operations
Welcome to Facilities & Operations
The District Facility Department takes pride in the maintenance and care of each facility, to provide a clean and safe environment for all students, staff and community members. The school buildings and fields are used frequently by community groups as well as groups outside the District for various rental purposes. In addition, the Monona Grove High School has an indoor swimming pool, open year round, along with the E.F. Schwan Performing Arts Center, a 599 seat auditorium, used both for school and community purposes.

The Monona Grove School District schools are in two communities, Cottage Grove and Monona, separated by nearly 8 miles (Madison). The District’s Facilities Department maintains and manages approximately 950,000 sq. ft. of facilities and just over 250 acres of land. The department employs 33 full-time employees and the Facilities Supervisor.
The buildings are in excellent condition, ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliant with several updates and construction projects over the years. Glacial Drumlin School was built with Geo Thermal Heating and currently operates at 20% above current energy standards.
The District maintains all grounds, tennis courts and athletic fields with three full-time employees, in addition to maintaining several community ball diamonds and soccer fields during the sports seasons.
