This allows teachers to view student screens during class to keep them engaged and on task.

GoGuardian Admin is the broad "filter" for the district. It automatically blocks inappropriate websites (like adult content or gambling) across all school-issued devices, in and out of school hours. If a student attempts to bypass a filter or visits a high-risk category (like "Explicit Content"), an alert is generated for our school administrators. This allows us to monitor general browsing trends and step in if a student is consistently trying to access unsafe areas of the web. Appropriate use of devices and internet activity is outlined in our Device Expectations and Responsibilities (also found linked above and in school handbooks).

While GoGuardian Admin focuses on "browsing rules," Beacon focuses on mental health and student safety. Beacon analyzes whether a student’s online behavior (searches, emails, or documents) indicates they may be struggling. The system specifically scans for content related to self-harm, suicide, or threats of violence.

• When a high-risk search or document is flagged during school hours, a Beacon Alert is immediately sent to our school’s safety team (School Counselors, Psychologists, Social Workers, School Resource Officers and Administrators). This allows staff to provide support and intervention before a situation escalates. If an alert requiring any action is triggered during the school day, school staff will contact families as soon as practicable to discuss the alert and coordinate any necessary support and/or interventions for the student.

Beginning March 2, we will begin using Beacon 24/7, a comprehensive after-hours system. Beacon 24/7 uses advanced technology paired with trained specialists to identify when a student may be searching for content related to actively planning self-harm. 

• Active Planning alerts generated after 3:45pm and during non-school days are first reviewed by a team of trained safety specialists at GoGuardian. If a specialist identifies that there is an "Active Planning" element (a student in immediate danger), they follow an emergency protocol that includes calling designated school officials. School officials will share parent/guardian contact information with law enforcement/first responders in order for a welfare check to be performed in an attempt to ensure the student is safe.   

For Beacon and Beacon 24/7 to be effective, our system must have your correct contact information. Please ensure your phone numbers, addresses, and emails are current in Infinite Campus so we can partner with you in keeping your child safe.

The GoGuardian Parent app provides an overview of your children's online activity on school-managed devices and accounts, including the apps, extensions, documents, and websites your student visited. GoGuardian Parent also allows you to set up an additional set of internet controls for out-of-school hours, including the ability to block websites on school-issued devices during out-of-school hours and the ability to pause internet access on school-issued devices during out-of-school hours, either on-demand or at a scheduled time. 1. Download the app  via Apple Store or  via Google Play Store
2. After the app is successfully downloaded and installed, open it up and enter your email address registered with your child’s school. 
3. Login/Check Email: Check your email on your phone for a link to log in to the app. Tap the "Verify your email," and it will take you straight to the app.
