Winnequah About Us
Winnequah School is a learning community serving approximately 242 students in grades 3-6 with three homerooms at most grade levels. We are conveniently located in the City of Monona, which is adjacent to Madison, WI, off of Monona Drive. Our school borders Winnequah Park and has easy access to the Monona Public Library.

As a staff, we challenge our students academically. Many of our teachers have been trained in differentiated instruction. Our district goals include performance measures at each grade in the areas of reading fluency on the DIBELS assessment and reading, mathematics, and language on the MAP tests. Additionally, our WKCE scores show that students are performing above the state average in tested areas.

Winnequah School offers a well-rounded experience in the Related Arts through weekly instruction in art, music, physical education, and library/computers. Strings instruction is offered starting at fourth grade. At sixth grade, students take an array of electives following a middle school exploratory model, which includes technology education, family and consumer education, French, Spanish, health, physical education, art, and computers. Sixth graders all take at least one music class and choose from band, orchestra, choir, and general music.
