Three-Year Technology Plan
This fall Monona Grove began implementing a new three-year technology plan. Simply put, we aim for “anytime, anywhere” technology access for students and staff. Our plan builds on recent improvements to our technology infrastructure that include one-gigabyte fiber-optic Internet connections for all of our schools. Our goals are:
- Increase personalized learning for students and staff
- Improve data management and provide easy access for teachers
- Equitable technology access for all students
- Maintain a highly reliable computer network that always meets the demands of students and staff.
We plan to dramatically increase the use of mobile devices over the next three years, with 1-to-2 tablet access for students in grades K-2 by 2015, and 1-to-1 Chromebook access for students in grades 3-12 by 2016. To ensure equitable access to technology, we will have mobile devices and filtered Internet hotspots for checkout in our schools’ libraries. We also encourage students to bring their own mobile devices to school (“BYOD”) for appropriate use in class. We will enhance educational technology applications in the classroom through our building and district technology committees.
