The Winnequah/Glacial Drumlin Special Projects Grant 2008-2009
Application Information Purpose The
Winnequah/Glacial Drumlin Special Projects Grant provides one or more annual grant
awards to teachers and support staff members in the Monona Grove
School District to support their development of new programs/projects
or further development of existing programs/projects which have the
potential to enhance the education of Monona Grove students at the
middle school level. Eligibility
and Selection One
or more worthy enterprises are selected annually to receive awards
from the James F. Green Fund. Any individual Monona Grove teacher or support services staff
member, or groups thereof, from the middle school level is eligible to
apply for an award. Selection
of award recipients is made by a committee of Monona Grove Education
Foundation. 2008-2009
Grant Awards The
total of these grants for 2008-2009 will be no more than $1000.
Grant applications are available in October 2008.
Deadline for completed applications is November 28, 2008.
Announcement of grant awards will be made in December.
Funds will be available immediately.
Application To
be considered for a 2008-2009 award, applicants must submit the
following information on the enclosed Application Form. NAME/SCHOOL/ASSIGNMENT.
List the name(s), and assigned duties of all the Monona Grove
staff members who will be involved in the program/project proposed for
grant award consideration. ABSTRACT.
Briefly summarize the general nature of the program/project for
which grant application is being made and the proposed uses of the
grant funds. GOALS.
Describe the rationale for the proposed project/program (i.e.,
the needs it will meet and the promise it holds for meeting those
needs.) and the goals of the project/program (i.e., the outcomes
expected if the project/program is successful). PARTICIPANTS.
Identify the number and grade level of students, as well as
staff members, parents, and/or others whom the project/program is
designed to serve. PROJECT/PROGRAM
DESCRIPTION.
Describe the key features of the proposed program/project and
how it will operate (i.e., what will be done to accomplish the
program/project goals). TIMELINE.
Specify the timeline (i.e., beginning and ending dates) for the
proposed program/project. This
should be the timeline within which the developmental work will be
done, not necessarily the implementation of the project/program.
NOTE:
2008-2009 grant monies must be used during the
2008-2009 school
year. BUDGET.
Specify how the grant monies will be used by listing each type
of proposed expenditure, an estimated amount for each expenditure, and
a total amount. NOTE: The maximum total amount for a 2008-2009 grant is $1000.
Grant recipients will be required to
submit a detailed expenditure report at the conclusion of their work on
their program/project.
. COMPLETION
REPORT Grant
recipients will be required to submit a completion report at the
conclusion of their work on their program/project.
This report will include a summary of the work done, the
evaluation results, and a detailed listing of expenditures. APPLICATION
DEADLINE Applications
for 2008-2009 grant awards must be received not later than 4:00 PM November
28,

WI 53716 Selection Process and CriteriaA
selection committee consisting of five members (consisting of
educators, community members and Monona Grove Education Foundation
Board members) shall review the applications.
Selection Criteria1.
Does the grant proposal describe the development of a new
project/program (or further development of an existing one) which has
the potential to enhance the education of MG students? 2.
Does the grant proposal describe a rationale for the proposed
project/program (i.e., the student needs it will meet)?
Do the needs seem educationally legitimate?
Does the proposed project/program hold high promise for meeting
the identified student needs? 3.
Does the proposed project/program specify goals (i.e., outcomes
expected if the project/program is successful) which relate
appropriately to the rationale? 4.
Does the grant proposal identify the participants (i.e.,
students, staff members, parents, and/or others) who the project will
serve? Are the
participants appropriate for the goals? 5.
Does the grant proposal specify what will be done (i.e.,
activities, procedures) to accomplish the goals of the project/program?
Are these appropriate? 6.
Does the grant proposal specify a timeline within which the
project/program will operate? Does
the timeline seem appropriate? 7.
Does the grant proposal specify each type of expenditure for
which the grant monies will be used?
Do the expenditures seem appropriate?
Do the expenditures total $1000 or less? 8. Does the grant proposal specify how the project/program will be evaluated? Do the evaluation design and measures of success seem appropriate for determining the accomplishment of the goals? |
