What is a Maywood Turtle? Maywood School has adopted the turtle as its school symbol. Being a Maywood Turtle is very special! On Friday it is usual to find students and staff dressed in the Maywood school colors of teal and orange or in Maywood turtle logo clothing. These special days help us generate spirit for our school.

Throughout history many cultures have considered the turtle objects of reverence. In many legends the turtle supports the earth on its back and the turtle supports the diversity of the earth. The Maywood building is a shell created out of mortar and brick, but the shell does not make the school. It is the devoted, reliable and dedicated people who make Maywood School the cornerstone for learning. As the turtle supports the earth, we support the learning and diversity of our students.
