| 3. This is the dogsled frame before anything is loaded into it. The sleds used by the Voyageur school are made by staff members, and are "expedition" style sleds. They are larger than sleds used for racing. | 4. This sled is packed and ready to have the tarps folded over it and the green compression system tightened up. When loading a sled, the heaviest items should be on the bottom and as far back in the sled as possible. Lighter items go on top. There should also be a gentle slope from the back of the sled to the front. Skis go on the very top. |
