All seventh grade students will be making a pillow during Family and Consumer Education class this year.  Students will choose a pillow of their choice from kits which will be ordered from "Haan Crafts Corporation".   Additional pillows may be completed for extra credit.  Each kit contains fiberfill stuffing, fabric, thread, and an instruction sheet.  All other necessary sewing equipment and supplies will be provided. 

This beginning sewing project gives students an opportunity to practice basic skills which are needed in all areas of life.  Some of these include working with fractions, reading and following directions, using simple measuring tools and practice with work skills such as communication and cooperation.  Even though the project takes a short time to complete, there is a great deal of learning involved.
