Seventh Grade Spanish

What Are We Going To Do In This Class?

Seventh Grade Spanish is a sixteen week class (depending on the year) that will serve as an opening to Spanish One.  The class is divided into two minis.  During the first mini students will review topics learned in 6th grade, learn question answer patterns, question words, and how to form basic sentences.  Vocabulary will include infinitive verbs, places, classes, classroom objects time, and activities.  Grammar will include definite articles (the: el, la, los, las), making nouns plural, and conjugating verbs to the present tense.  In the second mini, students will build into more vocabulary and sentence structure.  We will learn days of the week, professions, body parts and adjectives.

There are approximately 2 homework assignments per lesson.  After each lesson there is a quiz and at the end of each mini there is a 100-point test.  We update our phones weekly, so check in with Mrs. Wollermann at 839-8091 or Mrs. Cook at 839-8092.  When there is no formal homework, students are strongly encouraged to study 10-15 minutes each night.  It is highly recommended that students with A's and B's continue with Spanish in 8th grade.  Students with lower grades are encouraged to wait a year and pick up Spanish One at the High School.
