Cottage Grove Schools PTO Meeting Minutes

March 5, 2007

 Attendance: Carol Doll, Angie Gary, Barbara Berg, Renee Tennant, Lisa Baudhuin, Betsy Zande, Chris Vroman, Juli Stinson and Jennifer Pickel

 A. Thank you from Mr. Gramann for money from Fall Festival was passed around. Thank you from Barb Berg passed around.  

 B. Principal Reports  

          Cottage Grove Schools/Renee Tennant – Discussed upcoming events such as Science is Fun and the Groundbreaking Ceremony. Report cards are also going out next week. We also discussed the School Perceptions Survey that is being given at this time. Parents will be able to take this during conferences or on line at home. Batt and Maura Burns will be at Cottage Grove Schools on March 21 to do their storytelling presentation and the Strings concert is March 19. A transition meeting will be held on March 21 to address the needs of students moving from Cottage Grove School to Winnequah.

          Taylor Prairie School/Barbara Berg – Celebration planned on Friday for Kristi Massey’s last day. Several different 4K models are being reviewed and considered, but models 1, 2 & 3 are the most popular of the 4. Models one and three seem to work the best, though. The visits to the schools are complete and the committee is putting it’s recommendations together to present to the school board. The $290 to cover the milk buddy program is not a request – it will be funded through school guidance.

D. Secretary’s Report

          Jennifer presented the Secretary’s report for review. Lisa Baudhuin made a motion to approve and Betsy Zande seconded the motion. The motion carried.

 

E. Treasurer’s Report

          Lisa Baudhuin presented the Treasurer’s Report. Jennifer Pickel made a motion to approve and Renee Tenant seconded the motion. The motion carried.

 

Committee Reports

          A. Scrip -  Money for the prizes for reading tribes to be taken from the General Fund.

           

Old Business

A.    It was decided that a small subcommittee would look into questions to ask so as to keep all the information in and coming from a central location. Jennifer and Juli agreed to talk with Kathy Stapleton and get any information she may have and go from there.

B.    Chris Vroman made a motion to approve the $450 requeset for the 3rd Grade Aldo Leopold program. Lisa Baudhuin seconded the motion. The motion carried.

C.    Jennifer Pickel made a motion to approve the $930 for the 5th grade musical. Barb Berg seconded the motion. The motion carried.

New Business

          Angie Garey agree to create a message board type website for boardwalk project.

          Angie Garey also attended the Cultural Arts meeting and discussed forming a PTO committee to enhance their projects.
