Mystery
Web Quest
Introduction:
We have been studying the genre of mystery these last
few weeks. We are currently reading the book The Westing
Game. Today, we are going to learn more about our book
and about solving mysteries.
Activity #1:
The first activity in this quest is to find
information about one of the jobs mentioned in The
Westing Game by clicking on one of the hyper links
below. If there are two different links, then you need to
visit both links to find all of the answers. When you decide
on a job, raise your hand. You will be given a paper with
questions on it. Answer all the questions using complete
sentences.

Activity #2
Now, we are going to be detectives ourselves! We are
going to solve some mysteries that involve the TV detective
Monk. You have the choice of following along, while I read
the scenario out loud or you can read quietly to yourself.
Then, you must write down who you think did it and two clues
that told you it was that person, before checking to see who
really did it. You may not answer I dont know. If
you need help solving a mystery, raise your hand. Make sure
to use complete sentences for you answers. You have to
complete three mysteries (one worksheet) before the end of
the period. If you choose to do more than that, it will be
counted as extra-credit.
