1. The Cottage Grove Volunteer Fire Department Continuing Education Award  Application is available in Student Services.  The deadline is May 2nd, 2008.
You must live in the Town or Village of Cottage Grove  but it is not necessary that you be enrolling in a fire service or medical career (although you may get extra consideration for this, in addition to being daughter, son or grandchild of an active or honorary member of the CG volunteer Fire Dept.)

2. This scholarship is available to graduating African American students, with special attention given to those who have faced particular economic and/or social obstacles on their journey to educational advancement. 3. AES Engineers is pleased to be able renew our scholarship offer for 2008.
You are not required to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible.

4.  The Lamda Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon International Fraternity announces a valuable scholarship opportunity for  males who will be attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the fall of 2008.  Scholarships range from $250.00-$500.00. The deadline is April 26th, 2008.  Applications are available in Student Services.

5. Barbizon Schools of Modeling: Personal Development, and Related Creative Arts offers scholarships each year.  Go to www.barbizonmodeling.com to find out more information.

6. UW Eau Claire is providing 20 qualified students (who major in one of the following majors of Biochemistry/molecular biology, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Geology, Mathematics. Physics or Physic/engineering dual degree) with scholarships.  visit www.uwec.edu/ESTEAM for details

7. Wisconsin Garden Club Federation:  This $500.00 scholarship is offered to a student in pursuit toward a degree in  a horticulture-related field.  Application forms available in Student Services and are due by April 15th.

8. Robert Morris College Scholarships:  Criteria:  ACT Score of 28 or higher:  $15,000, ACT Score of 24-27:  $10,000, ACT Score of 22-23:  $5,000 or ACT if 21:  $2,500  To learn more visit  www.robertmorris.ed

10. Females only! The $4,800 Betty Von Rutenburg Memorial Scholarship is a non-academic  scholarship for a student who shares the steadfast commitment to community and the dedication to others that Betty possessed.  The recipient will be a young woman of strong character, initiative, leadership and compassion.  Applicants should NOT have accepted or have reason to believe they will receive a full scholarship to finance their education.   If we receive more than 2 applicants,  Student Services will determine the top two candidates and forward those on to their committee.  Applications are available in Student Services and should be returned to your counselor by April 18th.
 

11. Carter G. Woodson Scholarship:  Intended for students of color planning an attending a 2 year or 4 year college or technical school.  Applications available in student services. 

12. The American Legion has provided us with  a 152 page booklet listing scholarships, grants and loans for which students may qualify.  It's also available at www.needalift.org 

 

13. Enter to Win up to $25,000 or a year of college-No essay, no act/sat score, no minimum GPA.  Visit www.nelnet.com/win.  You may enter daily to increase your chances of winning.

14. College of Engineering at the University of Wisconsin.  Applications are available in Student Services or at http://studentservices.engr.wisc.edu/money/scholarships/merit.html 

15. Morrison Institute of Technology is offering a 1,000 scholarship to one or two students.  The Morrison Institute has programs in Building and Highway Construction, Technology and Surveying, Mechanical Design and Drafting and CAD, and System and Networking. If you are interested in this scholarship please see your counselor. 

16. Wisconsin Towns Association offers $7,500 in scholarships.  Students need to write an essay to be considered. Applications available in Student Services and are due May 27th, 2008.

 

17. Student Insights:  Log on to www.student-view.com and complete a 15-20 minute application survey about colleges in our area and you will be eligible for numerous scholarships. The deadline is April 22nd.

 

18. Cuna Mutual Group:  "Growing in  the Right Direction" Scholarship.  $1,000 scholarship to one of out MG seniors!   Criteria:  Financial need, academic promise, a record of volunteerism, submitting of a 1 page essay to our local scholarship committee on how you will use this scholarship.

20. DECA Scholarships:  Sixteen Scholarships available! See your counselor or Mr. Fassl.  Check the deadlines for each scholarship! 

21. Are you going to the UW Madison?  Interested in the area of Business?  The Business Scholars program is a $1,000 per year scholarship.  See your counselor for an application!

22. Students interested in pursuing a career in dairying in Wisconsin can apply for this $2,000 scholarship at http://producaer.wisdairy.com/dairyresources/userfiles/swcma0809.asp or you can get a paper copy in Student Services.  Due date is April 30, 2008

23. Are you interested in earning degree in engineering, architectural engineering and building construction, business, computer or a health related (nursing) field?  Every year the Milwaukee School of Engineering offers numerous scholarships.  If you are interested in a scholarship to attend this school, please see  your counselor!

25. The SAMMY (Scholar Athlete Milk Mustache of he Year) Award Program is offering a $7,500 scholarship from the Milk Processor Education Program,  Judging of the nominees will be based on academic performance, athletic experience, leadership and community service.

26. A variety of scholarship opportunities are listed in the January issue of UMOJA. Many of these opportunities are for African American and other minority youth planning on attending college.  A copy of this magazine is available  in Student Services.


27. Carrie Crystal Stuckert Memorial Art Scholarship:  This is for academically capable students that are enrolled as an Art major (including Art therapy).  The deadline is April 15th, 2008 and the application can be found at www.dreampoolfoundation.org
 

28. United Cooperative is offering scholarships to students majoring in agriculture.  To be eligible the student or the parent must be a patron member of United Cooperative.  www.unitedcooperative.com

30. Each year, the Dane County Conservation League 
(a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization) awards scholarships to graduating high school seniors in Dane County who will be pursuing college degrees in conservation-related fields of study.  Please refer to the attached document. 
 
Please notify students that you think would be interested and qualify for this scholarship.  The amount of the scholarships and the number awarded each year depend on the number of qualified applicants.

34. Are you a member of St. Stephan's church?  They are offering a $500.00 scholarship to a student entering agriculture, life sciences, or medical fields.  Application forms are available at the church office at 700 Pheasant Hill  in Monona.  The deadline is April 30th!

35. The Italian-American Women's Club of  Madison 4 scholarships to areas seniors (three in the amount of $1,000 and one in the amount of $500.00).  You need not be Italian to apply-but have an interest in Italian culture .  The Application is due April 14th is available in Student Services.

39. The East Side Businessmen's Association Scholarship application is available in Student Services.  There are 5 $1,000 scholarships available.   The criteria is :  Service to the community, Service to family,  Non-academic achievement and Academic achievement.  The deadline is April 15th!

40. The Firefighters Local 311 Scholarship that is listed on our scholarship page (under Student Services) has extended their deadline to May 15th.  Currently, no MG  students have applied.  This is a $500.00 scholarship and you don't need to be going into firefighting to apply.  It's number 22 on our list-take a look!

41. The Cottage Grove Professional Police Association is offering a $300.00 scholarship to any student residing in Cottage Grove pursuing a career in public safety.  The application is available in Student Services and is due April 18th, 2008.

42. NROTC Scholarship:  Pays for 100% Tuition, books, lab fees and uniform allowance. Over 160 colleges and universities nationwide. requirements:  ACT:  English 22, Math 21.  Applications available at  www.nrotc.navy.mil
