Call to Order –Kathy Bultman, Chairperson, called
the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
II.
Declaration of Public Notice – Gary Schumacher
confirmed that declaration of public notice had been given
for the meeting.
III. Public
Appearances – There were no public appearances.
IV.
Minutes from November 19, 2001 Curriculum Committee
Meeting. Bill
Bland moved to approve the minutes as distributed.
Kristi Williams seconded.
Motion passed.
V.
Expeditionary Learning Outward Bound (ELOB) Report
– Tom Van Winkle and Patti McGinnis introduced three 8th
grade students: Katrina
DeVore, Brittany Hinds and Elizabeth Loniello who
presented a PowerPoint they produced about ELOB at
Winnequah School. Following
the student’s presentation, Tom and Patti distributed
handouts and discussed the climate at Winnequah prior to
ELOB and changes that have occurred now that ELOB has
existed for three years. Their comments addressed the school’s structure and
organization, curriculum and assessment, school culture
and professional development.
Tom explained that the ELOB program has been funded
through a 3-year grant cycle that will soon end.
The committee suggested that Tom present ELOB to
the Business Services Committee so they can investigate
funding to continue this program.

next meeting

Other Agenda Items – There were no other agenda
items.
VIII.
Set Date and Time for Next Meeting – The next
Curriculum Committee meeting will be held Wedensday,
January 16, 2002 – 6:00 –7:15 p.m. at Nichols School
– District Office Board Room.
IX.
Adjournment – Kristi Williams moved to adjourn
the meeting. Bill
Bland seconded. Motion
passed. The meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
