Module 3: MGHS Library Program
This PPT slideshow is an initial version of a looped slideshow that I hope to have displayed on our local cable access stations. Ideally, there will be a video follow-up that will include teacher and student comments to bolster community awareness and support.

Module 4: Proposed Policy
The proposed policy would be one segment of the district's acceptable use policy. It would directly address the freedoms and responsibilities of students choosing to use their personal mobile devices in the school environment.

Module 5: Staff Development - Live Binders
This is an outline for librarian led professional development offering. Live Binders is a 2.0 open source organizational tool that I hope will be useful to both teachers and students.

Module 6: Library Program Data
This document contains instructional and student use data compiled during the 1st quarter of the 2010-2011 school year.

This "Innovations and Opportunities" course is really providing me with a needed opportunity to think about what I am doing professionally.  So far I feel that I have been on track with the changes and expectations with my role.  Unfortunately, at some points, I feel this is because of luck or by accident.  It is definitely time to begin planning more carefully and being more intentional about how I focus my efforts.

We completed an exercise comparing the school librarian's roles and responsibilities with that of the building principal.  There were many, many shared areas of responsibility.  The commonalities were more numerous than I would have guessed.  For me this means that there are many avenues that I can use to support our building goals.  I need to consider potential impact in areas that had not previously occurred to me.  It also means that I need to make sure that I am in contact with my principal making sure that I offer the support and services to meet our goals.

We also completed a self-assessment regarding our level of involvement in the integration of technology and our leadership roles.  Again, I have had many opportunities to share new resources with teachers and students and sit on several technology related committees.  I am involved.  Now I need to be strategic.  My professional practice and the library program have improved and are good but now we are rolling along and it is time to ramp up.  This will require a plan.  I am hoping that between the projects to be completed in the remainder of the course and my new L4L planning guide program there will be progress made!
