Madison Area Show Choir Camp 2013
Junior Session: July 8-12
Senior Session: July 15-19
Course Objective: The Madison Area Show Choir Camp provides an excellent opportunity for students seeking a quality show choir experience by using proper singing techniques and incorporating innovative dance movements taught by professional vocal and dance instructors.
Students entering grades 4-7 will attend the JUNIOR SESSION
Students entering grades 8-12 will attend the SENIOR SESSION
Schedule: Junior Session: Students will have a concentrated 5 day camp rehearsing from 12:30-3:00pm. A culminating performance will be presented on Friday at 12:00 noon for friends and family followed by a pool party at the Monona city pool (entry fee not included in tuition.)
Senior Session: Students will have a concentrated five-day camp rehearsing from 9am-5pm. A culminating performance will be presented on Friday evening for friends and family. A Kalahari excursion will also occur on Thursday evening. (Admission to the waterpark and bus transportation included in tuition.)
Showcase Solos: All Sessions: Students will have an opportunity to audition for a solo to be showcased in the Friday show. Professional instructors will guide students in the art of auditioning.
Faculty: Junior Session: Choreographer Kelsey Rauch holds a wealth of dance training and show choir performing. Kelsey is currently attending Edgewood College. Choir director, Lori Nahirniak is the choir director at Monona Grove High School as well as director of the award winning MG Silver Connection.
Senior Session: Rob Jones, choreographer, brings to us a multitude of performing experiences including cruise ships and Disney World musical performer and the star of the hit reality TV show, “Off Pitch”.
Taras Nahirniak, choral director and camp accompanist is an international composer and arranger from Madison, Wisconsin and is also the choral director for the prestigious group, “The Kids From Wisconsin.”
Lori Nahirniak, camp director and choral director, is the director of choral activities for Monona Grove High School in Monona, Wisconsin and past awards include the Kohl Fellowship and Who’s Who in America for teachers and Channel 3’s Top Notch Teacher.
Cost: Junior Session: (includes t-shirt) Early bird registration by May 30th= $50.00 Registration after May 30th= $55.00
Senior Session: (includes t-shirt and Kalahari trip) Early bird registration by May 30th= $150.00 Registration after May 30th= $160.00
