Lori Nahirniak is currently in her 23rd year teaching choral music, the last 18 having been at Monona Grove High School. Lori received her Bachelor of Music from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1986 and her Masters in Music from the same University in 1999. She has judged large group festivals, honor’s choir auditions and has served on the staff with the Wisconsin State Honor’s Vocal Jazz ensemble. In addition to judging for show choir competitions throughout Wisconsin, she is a guest educator at the Indianhead Art’s Center in Shell Lake, Wisconsin where she is one of several staff members teaching the summer show choir camp. Lori is also the creator of the Madison Area Show Choir Camp, which debuts this summer. In 1997 she received the teacher of the year award, titled “The Kohl Fellowship Award” which awards teachers for exemplary teaching. She has also been the recipient of the “Who’s Who Among American Teachers” award in 2000 and 2005. In her spare time Lori loves to dig in the dirt!
