District Retiree Healthcare Benefits
The Monona Grove School District Board of Education approved a change in health insurance providers. Effective January 1, 2017, the new health insurance providers will be Dean Health Insurance and Physician's Plus Health Insurance. Eligible employee's and retirees of the Dsitrict, will have the opportunity to enroll in either Dean (HMO/POS/PPO) or Physician's Plus (HMO/POS/PPO) plans being offered. This assures that everyone will have access to the UW System, Meriter or Dean/St Mary's system.
The insurance committe recognized this new combination as the best value moving forward. As of January 1, 2017 Employee Trust Funds, ETF, will no longer provide health insurance coverage for the staff (or retirees) of the Monona Grove School District.
The District will continue to have an "Open Enrollment" for the eligible employees and retirees for their health insurance options for the upcoming calendar year. This year's open enrollment will be held from October 1st through October 31st in which all eligible employees and retirees must make a decision on which provider and plan they will be choosing effective January 1, 2017.
