Monona Grove Alternative School ended it's 13 years with the graduating class of 2010.

As of July 2010, there is a new charter school for the Monona Grove School district;

The Monona Grove Liberal Arts Charter School for the 21st Century.

This school will serve students in grades 10-12 who are seeking an alternative to the traditional school setting.  Its focus is on 21st century skills utilizing a combination of thematically integrated curriculum and student led project based learning.

This school will be located at 5301 Monona Drive in Nichols School.
